Competition #1 (One Sheet Poster)

Here's the competition for what we were talking about in this thread. I got this idea from a piece I did around 2 years ago. Basically I created a zombie, then made it into a movie poster, and I made the arise title out of two fonts, impact and some gothic font I don't have any more. Me and Vishus decided to make it sound like a brief from a client, but not too strict on the type/style so everyone will be different. Here you go...


Brief

I want you to create a one sheet horror movie poster made for print, which combines:

• A photo-manipulation of a person (a zombie, wounded person, monster, psychopath) AND/OR
• A photo-manipulation of a place/scene
• Feel free to use props related to your chosen film type
• Film title is your choice.
• The main title must be two or more fonts which are manipulated to look like one, creating a new looking font.
• The horror sub genre is your choice (zombies, slapstick, psycho killer, psychological, slasher, monster, grindhouse, hammer house of horror, straight up gorefest etc)
• It can be as simple or as complex as you like

Don't base the character on someone who already exists (like Jason, Freddy, Leatherface, M. Myers etc). Create your own protagonist (main character: monster/hero). Same for the poster, don't base it off one which already exists. No re-cycling.



Extra Info

• Save the photo manipulation, the text manipulation and the finished piece in a separate document, all to be shown for the competition.
• There are a lot more pictures of people out there that can be used, apart from the usual rappers and 'honeys'
• The movie poster credits font is SF Movie Poster.
• Feel free to download some inspiration here.

• Size: 960 px (w) 1646 px (h) at 300 DPI (That's a third of a one sheet poster size). As it's for 'print' be aware of safety zones and bleed.
• Due Date: Wednesday 18th Aug - Midnight LA time.
• Submit your work by Private Messaging me your final piece, your plain typography (black on white background) and your before and after manipulation image.
• Voting will be done via a poll for all users to vote on, then the top three people will be judged by a panel (people tbc).

• 1000 Business Cards courtesy of Vishus
• 6 months of web hosting for free courtesy of moi

Could I enter this for the fun of it? I don't really need or want a website but I like friendly competition ^__^ and it would give me something to do in my off time :3 Plus I don't know how to run a website and I don't have a need for the business cards xD

Urm sure. We will just not enter you for votes then... Or won't let you get into the top three when the public vote is done or something I guess, if you don't want the prizes.
